Gabriel A. Tiraboschi
Postdoctoral Fellow, Université de Sherbrooke
Graduating with a Bachelor’s in Psychology and a PhD in Psychobiology at the University of São Paulo, my research passion started with a grant-funded project on body image perception during my undergraduate studies. My graduate focus shifted to studying the impact of video games on attention. Now a postdoctoral fellow at Université de Sherbrooke, I investigate screen media use impact on the well-being and development of children and adolescents. My findings have been published in high-ranking journals and presented at international conferences.
I find very intriguing how screens have become ubiquitous in everyone’s lives, but little is known about its effects. As a postdoctoral intern, I investigate the effects of screen media use on child and adolescent development. My findings so far include the effects of screen media on increasing symptoms of anxiety and ADHD in adolescents. Recently I was awarded a grant by the Fonds de Recherche du Québec to investigate the effect of screen media use on academic outcomes of school-aged children, which is my current objective.
